• Pay Less –  Recreational tax is 13%, and there is a THC % tax at the distributor based on total Milligrams. Patients do not pay the high taxes applied to adult-use sales. Most medical dispensaries offer discounts for Medicaid patients as well as loyalty programs.
  
• Access to Dispensaries – Currently, only certified medical patients may purchase from medical dispensaries.
  
• Product Range and Quality: Medical dispensaries often provide a wider variety of products, including higher potency options that are not available to recreational users. Medical patients don’t pay the THC % tax.
  
• Age Access: Underage patients with qualifying conditions can access medical cannabis with the assistance of a registered caregiver, whereas recreational use is limited to adults 21 and over.

   Patient Certifications now contain their registry ID barcode. Plastic registry ID cards are no longer being produced. This paper certification must be with you for dispensary purchases and replaces the plastic ID cards.
