It indicates that the medicinal potential of the entire plant, with its intricate chemical makeup, may outweigh that of isolated substances.

The interactions between these substances are hypothesized to cause the entourage effect because these interactions can change how these substances are absorbed, processed, and eventually impact the endocannabinoid system (ECS) of the body.

The molecular structure also includes a hydroxyl group (-OH) attached to one of the carbon atoms, which gives Nerolidol its alcohol functionality. The hydroxyl group plays a critical role in this compound’s chemical and physical properties, allowing for various intermolecular interactions, including hydrogen bonding and solubility in water. The presence of unsaturated bonds in the terpene structure contributes to its unique reactivity and potential applications.
